How to Get and Open Eggs in My Dino Empire (and What You Get)

The known egg sources in My Dino Empire — the $1,000 first Pet Egg goal, the Playtime Explorer Egg and the Monster Elite store pack — plus what hatches when you open one.

Quick answer

Your clearest egg route is the fresh-save goal banner: earn $1,000 to reach your first Pet Egg milestone, funded by digging up bones with your dinos and selling them in the SELL BONE(S) zone. Two other egg sources exist — the Explorer Egg tile in the Playtime rewards window and the Monster Elite egg pack in the store. Opening a Monster Elite egg hatches a dino that goes straight into your inventory, one egg at a time.

  • Goal banner: earn $1,000 toward your first Pet Egg (details in the first section below).
  • Playtime rewards: an Explorer Egg tile has appeared alongside cash, boosts and other rewards.
  • Store: the Monster Elite egg pack is the best purchasable egg pack.
  • Opening: each egg opens individually and the hatched dino lands straight in your inventory.

How to get an egg in My Dino Empire

My Dino Empire shows you three known egg sources: the goal banner on a fresh save, the Playtime rewards window, and the in-game store.

Work toward the first Pet Egg goal

A fresh save starts with a banner at the top of the screen reading "Sell crates to earn your first Pet Egg! $28 / $1,000" — your first milestone is earning $1,000 toward your first Pet Egg, and a new save begins that counter at $28.

The money for that goal comes from the starter island's core loop:

  1. Pull the ROLL DINOS lever to get a dinosaur, then carry it to a base pad and use the place prompt (E PLACE on desktop).
  2. Let the dino dig up bones.
  3. Sell the bones in the SELL BONE(S) zone, which turns dug bones into the cash that pays for every roll and upgrade.

Keep that loop running and your cash counter climbs toward the $1,000 milestone. If you want to speed it up, the current My Dino Empire codes can add free cash, and the bones guide covers the digging-and-selling loop in more detail.

Watch the Playtime window for the Explorer Egg

The Playtime rewards window's tiles have included an Explorer Egg, alongside cash, time skips, boosts, Frost Mutation Milk and Emberback Spinosaurus (as observed in October 2026). You claim these tiles by opening the Playtime window during a session — leaving the game resets your Playtime progress, so claim anything that's ready before you log off. The full tile list and timing are covered in the playtime rewards guide.

Buy the Monster Elite egg pack

If you'd rather spend Robux, the store sells the Monster Elite egg pack — described by one player who bought ten of them in a single session as "the best egg pack that you can actually buy." It was originally priced at 700 Robux for a first-time buyer, and it's advertised as giving better dinos with more bones per second. Note that the price shown was a first-time-purchase price, so pack pricing may differ for you or change over time.

What you get when you open an egg

Opening a purchased egg produces a dinosaur that goes straight into your inventory — no extra claim step was needed for the Monster Elite eggs that were opened.

Two practical things to know about opening:

  • One egg at a time. When a stack of ten Monster Elite eggs was opened, each had to be opened individually — no bulk-open option appeared, so budget a bit of time if you buy several.
  • Results vary. Monster Elite eggs hatched dinos of noticeably different quality in one session — from one worth about 2 million bones to one valued at 100 million per bone. The player judged his pulls against percentage tiers like 1%, 5% and 20%, though what those percentages precisely mean wasn't explained, so treat them as quality labels rather than confirmed odds.

What about pets?

Pets are tied to eggs differently. One player reported that his pet parrot came from an egg placed in an incubator — "You got to put an egg in the incubator. That's how I got it" — though he didn't remember where the egg itself came from. So an incubator step may be involved for pet-type eggs, but the exact route wasn't demonstrated.

After the hatch

Once your new dino is in your inventory, the placement guide shows how to put it on a base pad so it starts digging, and the dinosaur list helps you identify what you hatched. If you're still building your first crew, the rolling guide covers the free ROLL DINOS lever route.
