How to Play My Dino Empire: Tutorial Start to Your First Money

Your first My Dino Empire session, step by step: roll a dinosaur, place it at your base, sell its bones for cash, then choose what your first money upgrades.

My Dino Empire is a Roblox incremental simulator by Bone Bandits! built around one connected loop: roll dinosaurs, place them at your base so they dig up ancient bones, sell the bones for money, and spend that money on base upgrades, expansion and more rolls. Your first session walks you through that loop once, on a tiny budget — and this page takes you from the tutorial start to your first earned cash.

Quick answer

Pull the ROLL DINOS lever to get a dinosaur, carry it to a base pad and place it with the prompt your device shows (E PLACE on a desktop client), let it dig up bones, then sell the bones in the SELL BONE(S) zone for your first money.

What your fresh save looks like

A new save starts you with $28 and a top banner goal — at the time of writing (October 2026) it reads "Sell crates to earn your first Pet Egg! $28 / $1,000," with the counter growing toward the $1,000 first Pet Egg milestone. When you finish the onboarding, badge notifications pop for "Tutorial Completed" and "Thanks For Playing!", so you know exactly when the tutorial part is over.

The starter island labels its important spots:

  • ROLL DINOS — the lever platform where your crew comes from.
  • Upgrade Roll Luck and Rolling Platforms signboards — landmarks around the roll area.
  • Dinosaur pens — where dinosaurs dig up bones.
  • SELL BONE(S) — the zone where bones turn into money.
  • A round plinth marked "Locked $100" — it blocks one path until purchased.

Checklist

  • Roll your first dinosaur

Pull the lever on the ROLL DINOS platform. Rolling builds your crew, and it is not free — both new rolls and base upgrades cost money, and your save starts at $28, so your first rolls run on that starting cash.

  • Place the dinosaur at your base

A rolled dinosaur is only a collection result until you place it — the base is where it starts working. Hold the dinosaur beside a base pad and use the place prompt your own client shows; E PLACE is the desktop key prompt, not a mobile button.

  • Let it dig

Placed dinosaurs dig up ancient bones. Stay with that first placement long enough to see where your dinosaurs actually work.

  • Sell your first bones

Bring the bones to the SELL BONE(S) zone and sell them — that sale is your first earned money, and it completes the tutorial's core lesson.

That is the whole opening task. No rare dinosaur or optional pass is needed before you understand the ordinary loop.

What to do with your first money

After your first bone sale, pick one direction and save toward it — both are valid development choices, and you do not need to chase both at once:

  • Upgrade the floor you use. Digging Speed makes your dinosaurs dig up bones faster, but only on the current floor. The upgrade menu includes Fossil/Digging Speed and Unlock Floor options.
  • Work toward a larger base. Expansion is the other way to develop what your bones pay for.

Two things make this easier than it sounds. First, your base keeps earning even while you are offline — see the offline earnings guide. Second, if the budget feels tight, working codes drop free cash; the My Dino Empire codes page keeps the current list.

Money also flows back into rolling, because every new roll costs cash. That is the whole game in one sentence: roll, place, dig, sell, spend, roll again. A finished first loop simply means your collected dinosaur is connected to the base and you can name what your next bone sale should buy.
